Sunset Golf Course can be found within the neighborhood of North Central, an urban neighborhood based on population density. The North Central neighborhood is defined as bounded by I-95 to the west, Hollywood Blvd to the south, Dixie Highway to the east and Sheridan street to the north.

North Central real estate is primarily comprised of small (studio to two bedroom) to medium sized (three or four bedroom) single-family homes and apartment complexes/high-rise apartments. The residential real estate is occupied by a mix of owners and renters. Most of the residences in this well-established neighborhood were built between 1940 and 1969.

All three abutting neighborhoods to the West of Sunset Golf Course/North Central have displayed the highest home price appreciation of Hollywood neighborhoods since 2000.

 

Schools

Oakridge Elementary School
The school, which enrolls 660 local children in pre-kindergarten through 5th grade, is located two blocks north of Sunset Golf Course.

Sunshine Elementary School
This charter school, located two blocks south of the golf course, across Johnson Street, enrolls 310 children in kindergarten through 8th grade.

 

Nearby Development

Sheridan Station Apartments (2301 N. 29th Street, Hollywood)
Sheridan Station Apartments, a new development project a mile north of Sunset Golf Course, was planned to offer 336 market-rate, luxury apartments and feature a 6-acre park with a pond and playground on a 22-acre parcel. The development cost was estimated at $60 million.

Invicta Watch Headquarters (3069 Taft street, Hollywood)
Invicta will develop a new 20,000 square foot office building 1 mile northwest of Sunset Golf Course.

The City of Hollywood lists no other major planned economic development in or around this neighborhood.
